    IFCAI counts a thousand of volunteer members nationwide. It\u2019s directed by an advisory board consisting of professionals of repute. Most IFCAI associates are nurses, physicians, public health professionals, epidemiologists, microbiologists, or medical technologists who are committed to patient safety.<\/p>

    IFCAI believes that the healthcare system has reached a critical juncture between patient safety, infection prevention, and quality of care. Significant changes in where care is and will be delivered are central issues. These changes represent an unprecedented opportunity for infection preventionists (IPs) to accelerate progress toward the elimination of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). We are gearing to advance our mission to create a safer world through the prevention of infection and embrace this bold direction through patient safety, implementation science, competencies and certification, advocacy, data standardization, and IPC product testing & listing.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

    IFCAI has incorporated several learnings from WHO, UNICEF, ACIPC, and other major IPC organizations worldwide in order to:<\/p>

    • Lead, shape, and inform the infection prevention agenda in India and other Low Resource Settings.<\/li>
    • Develop and create strategic alliances to progress the IPC agenda, locally nationally, and internationally. Collaborate and align with key infection prevention and public health organizations, agencies and, consumer groups, including international engagement, to demonstrate and promote effective infection prevention programs across the care continuum.<\/li>
    • Define, develop, strengthen, and sustain competencies of the IP across the career span and support board certification in infection prevention and control to obtain widespread adoption.<\/li>
    • Influence and promote the evidence base for infection prevention practice that is adopted universally.<\/li>
    • Be the organization of choice for all those involved in infection prevention to sustain improvements in practice.<\/li>
    • Provide a framework that enables all health and social care practitioners to function competently.<\/li>
    • Build and maintain research and development capability and capacity.<\/li>
    • Assess and certify disinfectants and publish a list of quality disinfectant and antiseptic products in line with VAH a recognized authority for quality assurance in prophylactic disinfection in Germany.<\/li>
    • Collect, analyze, and interpret health data in order to track infection trends, plan appropriate interventions, measure success, and report relevant data to public health agencies.<\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

      • Several national levels and localized training programs resulting in training & certification of approx. 5000 healthcare workers (HCW).<\/li>
      • Discussion groups on Whatsapp, Facebook and other social media to support HCW with advise and support<\/li>
      • A Clinical Microbiologist and Infection Preventionist centered newsletter circulated free of cost reaching more than 15,000 HCW\u2019s in Asia, Africa, and Gulf countries.<\/li>
      • E-learning course on Infection Prevention & Control developed and offered in collaboration with the University of Hyderabad and COL CEMCA<\/li>
      • First-ever in India: Post Graduate Diploma in Infection Prevention and Control offered in collaboration with Hyderabad Central University<\/li>
